EuroMillions Plus is a supplementary lottery game that is available to Irish Lottery players who participate in the main EuroMillions draw. It costs a little extra to take part in the EuroMillions Plus game but doing so gives your five main EuroMillions numbers an extra chance to win a prize of up to €500,000. Because this game is exclusive to the Irish Lottery, the draw usually takes place at the National Lottery HQ in Ireland after the main EuroMillions draw has been held.
How to Play EuroMillions Plus
All players must be aged 18 or over and before you can play EuroMillions Plus you need to enter your selections for the main EuroMillions game, which comprise five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers. When you have done that, check the Yes option to also play EuroMillions Plus and the modest additional fee incurred will be added to the total cost of your entry.
The EuroMillions Plus game uses the same five main numbers as your EuroMillions entry, and when the EuroMillions Plus draw is held five numbers will be selected at random. If you match three or more of your numbers with those drawn then you will win a cash prize, as follows:
|Numbers Matched||Prize Awarded|
These prizes are all fixed, so if several players match all five main numbers they would each win €500,000 unless the prize payout limit of €3 million per draw is reached, in which case prizes would be adjusted to accommodate. Should no player match all five main numbers then the prize amounts would remain the same for the next draw because the EuroMillions Plus jackpot does not roll over.
Making a Claim
Players who win a EuroMillions Plus prize need to claim that prize within 90 days of the draw taking place. Anyone who plays this game by purchasing paper tickets should note that the tickets are bearer instruments, so if you lose a ticket and someone else finds it, the person who finds and submits it will be treated as the rightful prize winner. Of course, if you play EuroMillions Plus online then you can't lose your ticket and you will be notified of any win that is achieved by email so that you can make your claim straight away.
Advance Play Option
If you want to participate in several consecutive EuroMillions Plus draws then you can do so by taking advantage of an Advance Play option. This involves paying for all of your entries (which must of course include entry into the main EuroMillions draws too) in advance, and the numbers selected for the first draw will automatically be entered into the subsequent draws that you opt to play.
