| All
participants in Euro Millions must be over the age of
18 when they buy the tickets.
A prize can only be claimed in the country
that issued the winning ticket.
The bearer – not the purchaser – of a Euro
Millions ticket is deemed to be the rightful owner.
This means that if you lose a winning ticket, the prize
can be legally claimed by whoever happens to find it.
|
In the UK, Rule 5 states that The [lottery]
Company will only pay out a Prize in the UK Game in respect
of a Ticket and, for the avoidance of doubt, will not
pay out a prize in respect of any ticket or entry for
a lottery forming part of the EuroMillions Game issued
by or on behalf of a Co-Promoter.
Similar terms are applied by each Co-Promoter. So, you
can only claim your prize in the country in which you
bought the ticket.
Since 20th January, 2006, the operators introduced a cap
on the number of times the euromillions draw could roll
over. If not won on the 12th rollover, the jackpot will
now be re-distributed to the next highest winning tier,
most likely those matching five main numbers and one star
number. |
