Euro Millions rolls to £51 million

Friday saw the first Euro Lottery double rollover of 2011, excitement caused high ticket sales and pushed the jackpot way over estimate. Yet, despite the £37.6 million jackpot and unprecedented ticket sales, no one matched all the winning numbers in the draw and now the Euro Millions rolls to £51 million for Friday’s draw, the first triple rollover of the year.

Friday’s draw went off without a hitch, but a quick look at the Euro Millions results will show you that the numbers were a little unusual. This showed in the results, with no one matching all five winning numbers and the lucky stars. In fact, even the second tier prize was shared by six players only, a very low amount of winners, but it did mean that they each collected over £400,000.

This weekend’s jackpot is an estimated £51 million, and may get even higher as lottery players vie to be the next Euro Millionaire. £51 million makes it the biggest lottery jackpot of 2011, and while it may not have reached the proportions we saw last year, it has shown that the lottery jackpot can still get pretty high.

Ticket sales are sure to be brisk all week, not only in the UK but across Europe too, so if you want the chance to be the next Euro Millionaire, make sure you buy your lottery tickets in plenty of time. If you are playing in the UK, don’t forget to check the Millionaire Raffle prize too, or you could miss out on £1 million!
