October Mega Jackpot Draw
EuroMillions players who enjoyed taking part in the Mega Jackpot draw back in February will be pleased to hear that there is another one coming on Friday 1 October, 2010. The Mega Jackpot will once again be worth €100 million, which at current exchange rates would be worth something in the region of £80 million. The ticket price won’t vary for the Mega Jackpot game, so every ticket you purchase for the Mega Jackpot draw will give you the chance of winning a jackpot over six times as large as in a standard EuroMillions draw.
The last Mega Jackpot draw wasn’t won by any player on the night of the draw (which was Friday 5 February, 2010, for those who like details) and so rolled over to the following week when it was landed by two tickets – one purchased in the UK and one purchased in Spain. It would be nice if this time the Mega Jackpot could be won on the night itself, but whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.
Anyone who wants to make the most of this opportunity to win €100,000,000 has a couple of options available. The first one is to buy more tickets. Every EuroMillions ticket purchased has a 1 in 76,275,360 chance of winning. Buy more tickets and those odds improve in line with the number of tickets that you purchase, so buying ten tickets would give you ten times as much chance as one ticket. Add in the fact that one ticket has a 1 in 24 chance of winning any prize at all and buying multiple tickets means that you could win multiple EuroMillions prizes.
Another option – and one that is closely associated with the first – is to play the Mega Jackpot draw as a lottery syndicate. This would allow you to buy multiple EuroMillions tickets as a collective and share the cost equally between members. You would have to share any prize money that was won, but if you landed the €100,000,000 jackpot there would be more than enough to go around!
