How to be a EuroMillionaire

Becoming a EuroMillionaire – which means someone who has achieved millionaire status by winning a EuroMillions lottery prize – is an ambition that many players hold, and the jackpot on Friday 26 August gives us all a chance to do just that. No player matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars in the last draw on Tuesday 23 August so the jackpot now stands at a massive £77 million and the big question on the lips of many people is how they can improve their chances of getting their hands on it!

The only rational way of improving your chances of winning any EuroMillions prize is to buy more than one entry. Buy a single ticket and your odds of winning the jackpot are around 1 in 116.5 million, but buy 10 tickets and your odds would obviously increase to around 10 in 116.5 million, which equates to around 1 in 11.65 million.

Because buying more tickets costs more money, many players like to get together with others and buy tickets as a collective – something we usually refer to as a lottery syndicate. Winning a prize as a syndicate means that the syndicate members have to share the cash won instead of keeping it all to themselves, but when the jackpot is particularly large this really doesn’t matter.

Consider this: if you and six other people bought a ticket each as a syndicate, you would have seven chances of winning the jackpot. Since the jackpot is currently estimated to be worth around £77 million, if you won that prize and had to share it with other syndicate members, each of you would effectively win £11 million. Now we don’t know about you but we would be perfectly happy to win that kind of money!

Whether you choose to play EuroMillions as an individual or as a syndicate member, just remember that the only way to improve your odds of winning is to buy more tickets. Of course, if you get really lucky then it is perfectly possible to win a EuroMillions jackpot with just a single entry, so everyone can afford to buy themselves a shot at the big money. Buy your lottery tickets online today and good luck!
