One Ticket Wins EuroMillions
One ticket purchased in Belgium won the EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 16 September after beating odds of around 1 in 116.5 million to match all five main numbers (02, 08, 17, 39 and 42) and both Lucky Star numbers (03 and 10). In the UK, one player won £1 million by matching the Millionaire Raffle number WNH125147. The EuroMillions jackpot had a value of £13.1 million (€15 million), and the jackpot for the next game on Tuesday 20 September should be worth the same amount, give or take a little for fluctuations in currency conversion rates.
The EuroMillions jackpot winner might have had over 13 million reasons to celebrate but more than 3 million consolation prizes were also won by players who matched fewer numbers, so he or she wasn’t the only player in a good mood by any means. Three players won €634,450 each by matching five main numbers along with one of the Lucky Star numbers – a feat which involves overcoming odds of 1 in 6.4 million. Ten players each won a third-tier prize worth £40,909 (€63,445) by matching five main numbers only.
54 tickets were winners at the fourth-tier level and the owner of each of those tickets won £3,788 (€5,875) for matching four main numbers and both Lucky Star numbers. All other winning tickets picked up a prize ranging from £2.50 (€3.90) to £145 (€225) for matching two main numbers or more.
There are now just four more EuroMillions draws left in this month, so anyone who likes the idea of becoming a September EuroMillionaire will need to make the most of the opportunities available.
