Rollovers Inspire Syndicates

The EuroMillions lottery jackpot rolled over for the twelfth time in a row last Friday 9 September and that gives players an even bigger top prize to play for on Tuesday 13 September. Whilst some players may feel a little disheartened at the jackpot rolling over yet again, many lottery syndicates are actually inspired by the oversized jackpots, and those of you who don’t belong to a syndicate might well benefit from starting or joining one in the near future.

The reason why massive jackpots inspire lottery syndicates is because it makes it possible for individual members to win a regular sized jackpot even though they would be sharing the spoils with other members. For example, an individual who plays the EuroMillions game with a regular jackpot in place would stand to win around £13 million (€15 million) if he won the top prize outright. If that same player was playing the game as part of a syndicate which had ten members in total, a regular jackpot win would give him a share worth around £1.3 million (€1.5 million). However, when massive jackpots are on offer, a share of the jackpot could be as high as a regular jackpot.

To continue our example, in the EuroMillions game on Tuesday 13 September the jackpot will be worth around £138 million (around €159 million). If a ten member syndicate was to win that sum, each member would receive £13.8 million (€15.9 million) which is actually higher than an individual would receive after winning a regular jackpot. And don’t forget, the player who belongs to a ten member syndicate has ten times as many chances of winning as he would when playing alone.

Playing EuroMillions as a syndicate member therefore makes a great deal of sense, especially now that the EuroMillions rules have changed and jackpots have started rolling over more often. If you haven’t already done so, consider playing the game as part of a syndicate that already exists (at your workplace, for example) or just go right ahead and start your own!

However you choose to play EuroMillions on Tuesday 13 September, enjoy the game and good luck in winning the £138 million jackpot!
