Spanish Winner Scoops £39.1 / €46.5 Million Euromillions Prize

Friday night (16th December) saw one lucky Spanish winner scoop the £39.1 / €46.5 million Euromillions prize on offer with the numbers 2, 5, 10, 23, 31 and the two Lucky Stars 2 and 5. It wasn’t at all surprising to hear that the triple rollover Euromillions jackpot had been won because all five main balls were calendar days – days that players use to choose their lottery numbers based on birthdays and anniversaries. However that is speculation, it could have been that the lucky ticket holder simply used a Quick Pick or Lucky Dip option.

The last time a big jackpot was won in Spain was in October when a jackpot of £41.6 / € 47.9 million was shared by two winning tickets – one from the UK and the other from Spain. Previously a single winning ticket from Spain was found back in May 2011 when a mammoth jackpot of £105.8 / €121 million was won after a rollover of a Superdraw.

Whilst just one winner took the impressive jackpot there were 13 players who managed to match five main balls and a Lucky Star in the Euromillions results to win £98,039 / €142,015 – five of these winners were from the UK, three were from France and the remaining five winning tickets were brought from other participating Euromillions countries. In total the Euromillions draw of Friday produced over 3.3 million winners who all took home a cash prize from one of the thirteen prize tiers available in this pan-European lottery.

The estimated jackpot for the Euromillions draw on Tuesday 20th December is £12 / €15 million.
